Who we are

Restwood Caskets was founded by Anthony Holt, a builder by trade, born and raised in Tauranga, with a lifelong passion for construction and working with timber. From a young age, Anthony was drawn to building — fascinated by how raw materials could be shaped into something strong, useful, and lasting.

That early love of craftsmanship grew into a professional career in construction, where attention to detail, durability, and pride in workmanship became non-negotiable standards. Over time, this same mindset evolved into a new purpose: creating well-made, dignified, and affordable caskets (coffins) that families and funeral directors could rely on.

What began as a personal project soon became Restwood Caskets — a New Zealand funeral supply company dedicated to honest construction, thoughtful design, and consistent quality. Using durable plywood and carefully selected materials, each casket is built to perform reliably while maintaining a clean, respectful appearance.
